There are many types of contact lenses available, including hard lenses, soft lenses and GP lenses. Hard lenses, made from Lucite or Plexiglas are only rarely used. Soft lenses are the most common choice and are composed of a gel-like water containing plastic. GP lenses are recommended for people with severe astigmatism and presbyopia. They are made from a rigid plastic and are oxygen permeable.
